ScanDisk or CheckDisk?

I know that a hard disk can be scanned in Windows XP and used to be called ScanDisk in 9x versions. In Windows XP is still called ScanDisk or is CheckDisk the actual name and tool? I am writing a tutorial on how to do this and want to refer to it correctly.

Thanks,

You can open windows explorer (Flag/E) and do a properties on the drive you wish to scan, go to the tools tab, error checking/check now, if you tick the box "automatically fix file system errors" it will perform the task on the next reboot, if not it will run the checkdisc immediately, but will not do any repairs, but will show if there are any.

In Windows XP this is called Check Disk. When run it checks the disc for errors.Windows 95,98 and ME, used ScanDisc.
