Screen Resolution Doesn't Save

I have two user accounts on my Inspiron laptop, XP pro.  One is an Administrator account and the other is a limited account for general use.   I'm able to change the resolution to a lower setting in the Admin account and the setting is saved and appears the next time I log on.   In the limited account however, I can lower the resolution setting, but the next time I log on, the setting reverts back to the higher resolution.  How can I retain the lower setting?

Hi Starfire,

You can do that by logging in to your Admin account. Here you can give the limited account temporary Admin rights. In the account with the temporary admin rights you can change the resolution settings, which will be stored during logging out. Don't forget to change the account with the temporary Admin rights to a limited account after you are finished.

Did you use 'fast user switching' or did you fully log out of the account with the limited rights before giving it admin right? My approach is to follow the second option.

thanks, but that didn't seem to work.  Interesting though, when I gave the limited account admin rights, the lower resolution appeared automatically when I logged in.  When I changed the account back to a limited account and logged back in, though, the lower resolution appeared for a second, then the screen went black and the higher resolution appeared.
