Seeing More Restore Points

I am running Windows v 8.1, would like to go back more than one restore point, and cannot do so. Any suggestions?

When I click System/System Protection, click the [System Restore] button and choose the "Choose a different restore point" radio button, I am only offered a single restore point. I understand that some users also see a radio box reading "Show more restore points," but I have no such option. Is there a download available or some other way to see more than one restore point? I tried restoring in the hope that I could then see a prior restore point, but not such luck. The reason I need to do so is that I'm getting an annoying malware pop up in my browser and going back a restore point (or two) seems to be the only way I can find to make them stop displaying.

Try installing Malwarebytes free version and see if you can get rid of the malware. Restore points might not help. If the popup is only in the browser, install another browser and try that. You can have as many browsers as you want. Also open the options in your first browser and make sure popups are blocked.

To see more restore points, increase the space available in System Protection. If the space is not big enough, you will have room for only one restore point.

Thank you for the tips. Time will tell if the pop-up browser malware is gone, but all these recommendations were very helpful.

I installed the Malwarebytes free version directly from CNET, scanned and quarantined about 10 items. I also double-checked that the pop-up sites were blocked in my Chrome browser. Finally, I increased the space available in System Protection. I was particularly glad to know about that last item because I missed in Windows v 8.1 losing control over restore point visibility. I shifted the maximum usage from 1% to 3% and will tweak further should it be necessary to do so once I see how many restore  points (if any) become visible.
