Select path to DM051.CAB ???

Question

I am trying to reimage a Dimension 5150.  After finishing with the Recovery Disks I reboot the system.  As Windows XP starts it says 'loading your personal settings' ...pauses for a few seconds and then pops up a box telling me to 'Select path to DM051.CAB.  I can't find this file on any of the driver or Windows XP disks that came with the system.  Canceling the task just causes the system to shutdown.  Any help is greatly appreciated.   Lenknee

Explain how you are 'reimaging' the drive and what you mean by that. Dell has no Recovery Disk, just reinistallation disk for the operating system. Here are instructions for reinstalling: http://www.djdenham.com/Install%20Procedures.htm#Install

hi, can you try to enter safe mode and see how? Pls press F8 once you see dell logo when you switch on your computer.

By reimage I meant rebuilding the system using the Recovery DVD's that completely remove and reinstall back to factory fresh conditions (at least that is what they say). These are provided in addition to the Windows XP OS Disk. When the process completes (it uses Norton Ghost) it prompts me to remove the disk and reboot the system. When I do, I get a standard Windows location popup box that asks me to "select path to DM051.CAB. I can't find it on any disks that shipped with the system and I can't find it on the newly recreated hard drive either. Canceling the task just causes the system to shutdown.

Tried the full restore a second time and same result.  The restore DVD's obviously have a problem.  I went ahead and rebuilt the system using the original Windows XP disk.  The driver disk that was for the system (5150/E510) was for a Latitude so I had to download the drivers from the web site.  System is up and running.  Thanks for your help.
