Check your default mail program settings and make sure the right email program is selected in Internet Options, Programs. You might have lost your default mail program after the update to IE7.
I haven`t seen any fixes for IE7, but here is how to fix it in IE6
Start/Run and type in
REGSVR32 /i MSHTML.DLL
OK
REGSVR32 /i SHDOCVW.DLL
OK
Check this too if the same options are available in IE7.
Sorry, but can`t check myself as I am in Vista at the moment.
My Computer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types
In list of file types, click. (URL:Mailto Protocol)
Click Advanced.
In Actions, click Open. Click Edit.
In Application used to perform action, enter the program to use to open files that have this extension, then click OK.
In your case (including quotes)
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /mailurl:%1
MSHTML = Message received after trying to register the DLL "mshtml.dll was loaded, but the DLL Register Services entry point was not found. MSHTML.DLL does not appear to be a .DLL nor a OCX files.
SHDOCVW.DLL = Registered just fine.
Performing a search for the 1st DLL revealed the the file was in IE7 and in system32. Properties showed that they did not agree in size, version number nor modified dates.
I tried to open IE7 (after I reinstalled SP2 last night) and it would not open. In frustration I removed IE 7 and now have IE6. I will check if the Send As option works now.
Thank you for your reply. I will post back if the option fails again.
