That happens when you have not selected your email program and set up your account. Press the Start button and select or type Default Programs. You have to get the mail account settings from your Internet Provider.

Check your setting:

Control Panel / Default Programs / Set Associations

It will take a few seconds for the screen to load

Scroll down to the bottom where Protocols is located.

What does MAILTO have set for Current Default ?

What web browser are you using?  Are you using Internet Explorer?  Do you have the option to work offline checked?

OK you have to also tell Internet Explorer that you use Windows Mail. Open it and go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs, Set Programs and select Windows Mail.

1. Click Start, copy and paste regedit in the Start Search bar and then click Enter.

2. Navigate to the following key:

     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail

3. Right click Mail key and select Export to make a backup.

4. Double click (Default) subkey in the right pane.

5. Type Windows Mail as the value data.

6. Click OK.

Then restart the computer to test the issue.

   Best regard!
