Send to Mail Recipient problem

Question

Hello again everyone............   Dim 8300 XP home, SP2, IE6, updated. It seems as if I have managed to break my 'send to' feature in my PC. Not all of it, but the part that sends a picture to a mail recipient. (Most of my system specs are below XP - OE6 - SP2) The MAPIMAIL part does not seem to function properly and in attempting to 'fix' it I have probably made it even worse. I noticed that it had quit working the other day, but am not sure for how long it has been broken, so I hesitate to begin restoring back again. What I have determined is that 'send to' will send a picture to My Documents as usual. It will not 'send to' a mail recipient.-----It brings up the 'resize' option with the send mail box in the background showing a filled progress bar however the window just goes blank after clicking OK. No error message provided. I decided to click on the 'mail recipient' link in the 'send to' folder. I cannot recall if it directly opened the OE page or did so after I told it to 'open with' OE. At this point the properties box for the MAPIMAIL shows to open with OE. and it DOES open the inbox page, but not a new message page. (It previously showed Opens with Unknown Application, so I figured this is where the problem was but.......) I have tried to drag and drop a picture directly to the link in the send to folder and get the same results as described originally (It brings up the 'resize' option with the send mail box in the background showing a filled progress bar however the window just goes blank after that. No error message provided). When I try this with my ME PC it immediately opens a new message with the picture attached as normal. I have 'googled' and read much but so far cannot seem to find a clue as to where to look for the correct steps to get this going again. I should add that I am a pak-rat, and have a ton of stuff on my PC including recently adding Picasa2, MSN Search Tool bar, plus other things. I cannot relate any of the downloads to when my problem actually began.  (Removing Picasa2 had no advantageous effect.) I have a hunch this will be a head scratcher and likely some registry work may be required but ......I need help please!!!! My thanks to any who manage to make it this far,   kneed2kno

As I mentioned this must be a head scratcher.........but a kind fellow on another forum came up with a registry tweak (I know not what) that corrected the situation.   Send To - Mail Recipient is a neat quick way to resize photos for the mail. There is an option shown in the dialog box that allows three sizes for your reduced images. That was long enough ago that the details have slipped my mind. Sorry. However I only frequent a few forums and will do a search for you to see if I can refresh my mind.

I am a little rushed just now but will get back as soon as I can. I know how frustrating a broken program can be.
