Shell Error:5?

Question

I'm trying to install some software I need for schoo. It's a program that goes with Microsoft excel. Everytime I put the disk in, it begins to load and the comes up with something saying that it couldn't continue because of a shell error:5. I have no clue what that is, and was wondering if anyone could give me some help before I go to the tech guys at school. Thanks

Do you have the most recent windows installer on that PC?   Get it here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&displaylang=en   No guarantee this will solve it, it could be the software itself that has an installer issue. How old is this software? Was it made for XP or some older OS? Like W98?
