Shortcuts not working

When I frequently visit a web page I liketo have a shortcut to that page on my desktop. This is our 2nd computer in the house and for some reason when I click on the shortcut it says "windows cannot find http://my.yahoo.com/ make sure you typed the name correctly then try again" I establish the link on the destop by going to file>send>shortcut to desktop. This process works fine on my other pc.

I had the same problem almost a year ago and tried posting in another forum but to no avail.

This is what I found and it worked for me,not sure your issue is the same, but it can't hurt to try.

1. Open Explorer
2. Select Tools and then Folder Options
3. Select the File Types tab
4. Select Extension: (NONE), File Type: HyperText Transfer Protocol
5. Click Advanced toward the bottom of the window
6. In the Edit File Type window, select open and click Edit
7. Clear the DDE message box, which should contain "%1
8. Click OK, Click OK
9. Repeat for File Type: HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy
