had the exact same problem. could not talk my client into dumping mcafee, so we dumped the embassy wave suite software.

Found out that the software has nothing to do with the sim card feature "wich is not yet implemented nor supported" but present underneath the batterie, on meny laptops. But its the software for the finger-print security feature. - sorry about the confusion. - but the problem still remains  :)
