Slipstreaming Dell XP and SP-2

I have slipstreamed a OEM disc using AutoStreamer and it worked fine . . I tried it with a Dell ( twice ) and no luck . . the resulting cd installed ok. but was SP-1 . .

Anyone have any luck slipstreaming the Dell XP Disc?

Well . . ain't that a poke in the eye! ! !   Sure saves time on the OEM that I have done.

I guess I could use the OEM and go thru the activation . . less effort than installins XP, then SP-2. .

Thanks for the response . . wrs

There is a workaround to slipstreaming SP2 and Dell OEM. Go here and read Skyypunk's post on how to do this:

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=211039&hl=Dell%20OEM&st=15

I followed these directions and was able to create a Dell WinXP OEM w/SP2 disc. I have yet to try it out because I haven't long ago reinstalled and don't want to reinstall for a while yet. The good thing about it is that it was reported that it did not affect the "pre-activation" process.

Yes, the four filenames listed are not modified by the slipstreaming process. These files control activation, FYI
