Slow Computer

Question

I hope this is the right place to ask my question. For awhile now my computer has been running extremely slow. I've tried following steps to find out why on Dell's web site, but have had no luck. That may be because I am not very computer literate, I'm afraid. If anyone has any suggestions for my I will truly appreciate it. Thanks.

I have a Dell Dimension Desk top 8250. Yes the entire computer is very slow. I looked to try to find the correct place for posting my question and  am not finding operating system. Can you tell me where I can find it? Thanks.

First, without your PC Model Number and Operating system, we can't really offer anything.

Next, are you referring to the internet as being slow? or the entire PC being slow? It makes a difference. If it's the entire PC, you should be posting in the appropriate Operating system section.
