It doesnt depends on same configuration of all three or more computers but it depends on how much stuff you have on computer and what kind of softwares you have installed on system and let me tell you that when you try to open control panle it actually scans all dll icons and softwares which are associsated with control panel for example Nvidia control panel or Ati control panel and thats why it takes some time and more the dll files and software and other files more the time it (Norton or any other antivirus) will take to open the control panel
I understand what you are saying, however, my other three Dell's running the exact same Norton product (configured the same way) do not have this issue. Only the 4550 has the issue. When Norton is removed, there is no issue on the 4550, when it is installed and running (configured the same way as the other machines) the Add and Remove control panel slows to pace that I would call a problem. No other software on any of the machines causes the Add/Remove list to refresh this slowly. Including AutoCAD. If you have any further suggestions or comments I would welcome them. This issue makes administering this machine a real pain. There is an upside to this situation however, when ever I want a coffee break, I just refresh the Add/Remove control panel.
