Software error need help!

Question

After letting my Norton expire and before I got the 2006 version whenever I was online IE and Firefox would slow to dial up speed.  I installed Norton and a blue screen would come up:   Technical Info Stop: 0X0000008E ( 0XC0000005, 0XF886E229, 0XF8981174, 0X00000000 ) FUXX64.SYS-ADDRESS F886E229 BASE AT F886E000, DATE STAMP 43C38E64   If I uninstall norton ( in safe mode ) or restore to a date before Norton was installed it works fine.  If I try an download an online version of any anti-virus program it sends me to an MSN web page where no download is at.  I did get to have Norton do the free scan for a virus but came up clear.   Any help would be appriciated!!! Thanks! Nitrofan

Norton can be very difficult to remove from your computer. Here is a link (of links) to remove various versions of Norton:

Look at the thread "Norton Uninstall Tool and Manual NAV Uninstalls".

I think there's something wrong with Norton's site, because I can't access it now. Hopefully, you will be able to access it soon. If so, I hope something there will help you.
