Try emptying the browser cache and deleting all .tmp files. Corrupt cache could cause these problems.
Try running windows system file check:
start>run
type in: sfc /scannow
(space between sfc and /)
click ok
Insert Windows CD if sfc requests it and reboot when it's done.
Internet connection is cable through a Motorola SBV5220 modem.
I emptied the cache. (I had tried that numerous times before.)
I ran sfc /scannow and it did request loading the Windows CD. The message was "Files that are required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache." Therein lies the problem. The computer came with Windows XP Home Edition proloaded. Is there a way to acces the copy that is loaded somewhere on my hard disc?
