software startup problems

need help cannot log in to any user accounts at the startup screen i have a dell 4550. i cannot boot in safe mode either. the screen tries to load i can see the backgound pickture but then automatically loggs back off to the startup screen please help Message Edited by ghost_tb on 06-07-200611:26 PM

Put your XP re-installation disk in cd-rom drive, boot to cd and try repairing installation.

after installing the reinstall cd i still could not load past the startup screen.it tries and just logs back off to the start up screen
