Solution Center on the Start Menu
Is there a way to remove the "Dell Solution Center" from the Windows XP Start Menu (without uninstalling the entire program)? I have tried "Exploring" the start menu (All Users and my login account) and using the properties menu, but I cannot find the link to it. This is the "Solution Center" that appears in the right pane of the Start Menu.
Thanks
Dave Taylor

Do you have the program elsewhere on your menu that you want to use and keep? If so, you can copy a shortcut to your desktop. Or, by right clicking on it and then selecting delete will remove the ICON but the program will still be there on the HD. Although it will not show up but the programs any longer unless you add it. You have many options. Hope this helps!

Actually "right-click & delete" doesn't work...I dont know what they've done to install it, but it doesn't have the usual context menu of a shortcut. It is similar to the "Run" and "Search" menu options (if you right click them the context menu only shows "Run" and "Search"...no options to delete, etc). Although the "Run" and "Search" menu options can be turned off in the Start Menu properties page...the Dell Solution Center is not listed in the Start Menu properties page. Argh....I find all the vendor-specific stuff pre-loaded onto machines annoying enough...much less when the junk up menus & desktops!
