I am runnig windows xp home edition with service pack 2. I am having a minor problem that i have found other users are having with there display properties window. If I right click on my desktop click properties,click desktop the selection of background pictures are listed, the monitor displayed in the desktop window is shaded white when i choose a jpeg background picture if i click apply the picture will then appear in the graphic monitor as well as the desktop. The BMP files are displayed in the little monitor in the display properties when i click apply so the jpeg files are the ones causing the problem. i can live with this problem considering what service pack 2 has done to other peoples computers.

Did this happen recently and if so did you install windows updates?
