Sonic DLA Is Missing

I can't seem to locate Sonic DLA on my Dimension 8400. When right click my writeable drive, no DLA tab or option appears.
In a related vein, if the remedy is to reinstall the Sonic programs, I am unclear how I would do that from the Dell-provided installation disks.

If installed, "Sonic DLA" should appear in your Add and Remove Programs applet in Control Panel -or- you can find the version and build of DLA by:

  1. Opening "My Computer."
  2. Right-clicking on your CD or DVD writer and select "Properties."
  3. Click on the "DLA," tab.
  4. Click on the "Version Information," link.

If not installed, I believe you will have to reinstall the software since AFAIK, you cannot download the component separately from Sonic.  The contents of the software CD's that arrived with your computer should be marked on (each) CD.  Locate the one that contains the Sonic applications and after uninstalling existing versions and rebooting, reinstall from the CD.  DLA should be installed by default.

As a side note, I am assuming you do have Sonic's "Record Now" application installed...if your computer came with Roxio or other burning software then, DLA will not be present.
