Sonic software reinstall

Question

I recently bought a Dimension 9100 desktop with a dual layer DVD writer. I had some issues with the software and I thought uninstalling/reinstalling the Sonic software would fix the problem. To my surprise, there were no CDs for the Sonic software, instread, the only option available seems to be to restore the image that the PC originally shipped with.   This would mean that I would lose all the new apps installed plus all the data, and I would have to reinstall everything and restore my data from backup. This would also get me back to the same place I started (meaning I could still face the same problems writing DL DVDs). o my problem would not be solved but I would have wasted a lot of time in the process.   I think a simpler solution is to download the Sonic software, and my only problem is I couldn't find anywhere on the Dell site a place where I could download it. Can anyone please help?

There is not a place where you can download the software.  You should call Dell Tech Support or use the Chat feature and get them to send you the Sonic CD as well as a Windows XP reinstallation CD and any other CDs that they failed to send you because of their abominable and irresponsible  'Media Reduction' initiative. Hey I have the same problem.  I even PAID Dell when I bought my PC to have media.  All they sent was a disk for Windows.  No disk for Sonic.
