Sonic Update Manager won't go away

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 and it has a program called Sonic on it. Preinstalled.
I never used the program but suddenly I got this Windows Installer popup from Sonic on startup. I gor this everytime I start my laptop.

So I went to configuration > software and got rid of the program, but that didn't work.
So I went into the Program Files and deleted all Sopnic related files, that didn't work either.

So right now I'm still getting this Sonic Update Manager message everytime I start up my laptop and I have no clue how to get rid of it. Any help?

Thanks,
Bas

Do this....

Go to Start and Run.
Type in MSCONFIG
Go to the Startup Tab on the right.
Disable the following 2 items in the list. uncheck

ISUSPM
ISSCH

Click Apply and the Close - When prompted to do so Restart the System.

Then on restart, just check the System Config Utility box that says 'Don't show this again' and you're done

i had (past tense) the same issue until about 5 minutes ago.  I was going to try the suggestion you received from your post, but then I found a patch avail through the sonic/roxio website, recommended by others here on this forum.  It fixed my computer and i no longer have that annoying little pop up at start up.   go here and try this for a fast, easy fix:

(it was recommended on this dell forum page:

This is SuiJuris. Everytime I turn my computer on, "Sonic Update Manager" window comes up and I do not know what to do. I have spent hundreds of dollars believing in downloads that claim thier product can solve my problem. I'v had it. Can someone here in the family help me?

Boppo,

I just came upon you answer to  my search,  "Sonic won't go away".

Thank you so much. You seem to be the only one out there that has a clue.

You're answer corrected the "Sonic Boomerang".

Again thank you ever-so-much!

Rafiki
