I'll just have to guess, as you should have included your PC model, etc. Need technical info as there are many models and configurations of Dell's.
But, two possibilities. Either the program did not install correctly and you need to reinstall it or it's not Windows XP compatible. I assume you have Windows XP as you've posted in the Windows XP section of the forum. Some programs, designed for the older Windows Operating Systems, such as WIN95, Win98, WinME will not work on Windows XP (even in a compatibility mode option).
Check the system requirements for the program or even check the Web site for the program (if there is one) and see if the program is supposed to be Windows XP compatible.
