Sound Driver Question
I have a Dell Dimension 4550.
My sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1.

But I can't tell what product I have. Would it just be 5.1 Live! Digital? Yeah I know, extremely stupid question. But I like to get things right the first time.

You have a custom Dell OEM model sound card, if it was supplied with the PC. There is no Retail equivalent and thus you must use Dell provided drivers. The Dell model is a custom version with special features not found on the Retail version. In all reported cases, on the Audio Section of the Forum, the Retail drivers will not install and usually will not find a Creative/SoundBlaster product.
One feature on the Dell SB Live! that is not on the Retail version is the connection for the front panel headphone jack.
To access the Dell downloads, Click Desktops (at the top of this page) then Dimension, then enter your service tag number, to access applicble downloads.
