SP2 Installed, Firewall disabled, Completely lost Search function

After installing SP2 successfully, I have completely lost the Search function in Windows XP Pro. I've read the messages in this thread but nothing seems to apply.

Another Forum member suggested I disable the Windows firewall (I have Norton Utilities) and I did that but it didn't help.

Any ideas?

I uninstalled SP2 and now my Search function works fine again. I've search Microsoft and Dell and found nothing about losing the Search function when installing SP2.

Thanks. What great "Tips and Tricks" pages. They should be very helpful.

I've uninstalled Service Pak2 and Search works fine again. I've ordered the CD and when I'm sure I can install it on my Dell and my wife's Dell without it creating more problems than it solves then I'll re-install it.

Thanks. Although I have Spybot, Ad-Aware and Norton Utilities with Firewall, Anti-Virus etc. etc. on my computer so I don't really think I have any spyware on my computer. But I'll do another scan just to check.
