SP2 - Lockup after Install & Outlook issue

I installed SP2 from the auto-update and now my laptop is experiencing random hard lockup (mouse stops moving) requiring a hard boot.  Anyone else having this problem?

In addition, my Outlook has become totally unstable.  I VPN through the Internet to our exchange server and the connection just keeps cycling.  I have a rudimdentary sniffer and it seems to be hung on some "DCE RPC" call following logon that doesn't ever seem to successfully connect.  Although, I am able to use my email.  I just keep getting pop-ups about the connection lost, connection restored, retreiving info, etc.  While in the office, I upgraded from Office XP to Office 2003 and it's still doing the same thing.
