sprtcmd.exe at computer turn off

I've noticed in the last few days that sprtcmd.exe almost always pauses shutdown as it's closed. Apparently it's running in the background (something to do with the new Dell Support Center I believe). What's going on here and can it be corrected?

Thanks

Stop its service or uninstall it

I also am getting the sprtcmd.exe at computer turn off.  I tried to uninstall but keep getting "error 1306" unable to complete uninstall.  I also tried system restore to an earlier date but was  not successful as I am still getting the error.  I tried the links that were suggested but still no fix.  Any other ideas would be appreciated.  I am running windows XP with a dimension E310.

Julie,

Go to the "sprtcmd.exe at shutdown" thread. There is a solution and a more thorough discussion.

Just search for that thread.

Thank you so much for your help.  I did as suggested in the discussion threads and it worked great.  All problems finally solved.  Thanks again

Tom,

I searched on that thread 'sprtcmd.exe at shutdown' and just came back to the thread that I found your response on.  Someone else had listed three websites to check out but I don't want to download a virus to my work computer.  Do you know if they are reliable?

Go to the "Bay Wolf'" respones in that thread. I used his/her methods to resolve the problem.

I am having this same problem.  I was not able to find the link that you were sent to.  Could you give me information about how to stop this problem?
Thank you,
