Spywareblaster is protecting items from uninstalled program(??)
I recently was curious about a program called SeaMonkey, but decided I hated it, so uninstalled it. But Spywareblaster is STILL saying that it's protecting items for that program. I removed ALL of the files, folders, registry entries. So I reinstalled it and used Advanced Uninstaller to remove ALL of it once again. It's still showing as being protected with SB.
How can I fix this?? :smileysad:

SpywareBlaster does not protect programs (nor their components)... rather, it protects you FROM downloading/installing some known-bad ActiveX controls, visiting some known-bad websites, and from accepting known-bad cookies.
I checked through the websites and cookie lists, and don't see SeaMonkey listed (at least, not by that name)... I did NOT check the ActiveX list, as it is exceptionally long, and does not seem to follow any reasonable ordering.
what exactly is your SpywareBlaster program telling you? Are you sure we're talking about SpywareBlaster, by JavaCool, and not some other similarly-named program?

Actually I did try uninstalling it the LAST TIME I had a similar issue with another browser I installed/uninstalled, and it still showed up. But then I DID finally remove all of that program, so it was working normally after that. So if I try it this time it may or may not work, but I can give it a try:smileyhappy:

Yes I'm referring to the Javacool product, SPYWAREBLASTER. And what I meant was, when it shows you the programs that are protected, i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, it is ALSO showing SeaMonkey, saying that the protection is ENABLED. It shouldn't be showing up since I uninstalled it. Does that make it more clear as to what I'm asking? I'm saying that the protection is enabled for that program. SeaMonkey is not a cookie, it's a browser with email client, etc. So I'm not sure why you were checking cookies for that.

My apologies, I was/am not familiar with SeaMonkey.
My SpywareBlaster offers me protection only in terms of Internet Explorer (ActiveX & Cookies; Restricted Sites), and Mozilla Firefox --- so I assumed, erroneously, that SeaMonkey might belong to one of these lists.
Your reply has clarified these points.
If I follow your original post correctly now, you tried uninstalling/reinstalling/removing SeaMonkey...
just a "stab" here, no guarantee that it will work --- but what if you disable all protection with SpywareBlaster, and then uninstall/REinstall SpywareBlaster (and re-enable any protection you actually want to keep)?? Hopefully, it wont find SeaMonkey again... but like i said, no guarantee on that.

You obviously didn't understand what I was saying. I was saying I DID uninstall SpywareBlaster and reinstall it. And it didn't work the first time, then I removed all of the program that it was still protecting, so then SpywareBlaster was working fine after that. Then I was saying how I can try that again, but the SeaMonkey program MIGHT STILL be there, just like what happened with the other program. But I will give it a try AGAIN.
