Stand-by or Hiberate?
I have two Dell systems (as noted in my signature)
What would you suggest that i use for each system? Stand-by or Hibernate?
I do know what each does, as i want to see what other users do with thier systems.

I generally hibernate my Inspiron 6000 (and remove mains power from the adapter) but if I only want to turn it off for a short while then I put it into standby and leave mains power connected.
I rarely (if ever) use standby for my desktops (non-Dell) as they generally have not turned off fans etc but I do hibernate them in preference to turning them off.
If you use standby on a desktop and power is interrupted you generally have to do a disk check when it restarts.

Well this is what i am going to do
I am going to put my Computers set to Sreen saver after 5 Mins of inactivity, on stand-by after 10 Mins, and then set it to hibernate after 20 mins.
With my wife and i use comptuers so much, i think this will be the best setup for conserving power without interupting our usage.
