ok, yes i put in a geforce 5500 grtaphics card about a week ago and was tryin to upgrade the drivers, i have sp2 i get the black screen after the page thats says WINDOWS and there is a blue bar loading at the bottom. and no there is no erro message, thanks alot i think that was all your questions!
Well if this happened after updating the driver for it, boot into Safe Mode and go to Device Manager and "Roll Back" the driver to the previous version which worked.
when i tried to roll back it said there was no files behind it, i tried to unistall and reinstall but my disk wont respond, i put it in and out several times, also for the first time, i was startin it back up, and it said there was a keboard failure i dont know if this might be realated or not thanks

Well, that is strange. If you updated the driver you should be able to roll back to the old one.
Go to the manufacturers site and find the latest driver. Download it and install it even if it is the same as you already have. You will have it on the hard drive to install this time.
First check that the card is seated properly in the slot
ok i reinstalled, updated rolledback and went to there web site download what works for my settings , still this time i start it up its loads the blue bar for 20 seconds(bout normal) then it turns black and restarts, im beggin to think this is not a graphics card problem, maybe what every the thing is called that starts the pc
thanks and man this is drivin me crazy i just want it to work hehe yea right
ok hey yes i tried system restore, didnot fix it , i just selected enable vga mode and it started it right up, i dont know if i got luck or if i fixed it

Can you give some more information please. That is not enough to tell us what may be wrong
Did you just install any program, update any drivers or make any changes at all?
When do you get the black screen? Is is before/after the Dell splashscreen or after the Welcome log on screen?
Have you tried Safe Mode? Can you access anything from there?
If you get an error message please post the whole message
Also some system specs please
Have you got SP2?
