7E errors are corrupted registry entries. There are some registry repair programs that say that it will repair these errors. I am not certain that they will help without adding more problems. You can maybe try a repair install to see if that will resolve the error.
0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (Click to consult the online MSDN article.) A system thread generated an exception which the error handler did not catch. There are numerous individual causes for this problem, including hardware incompatibility, a faulty device driver or system service, or some software issues. Check Event Viewer (EventVwr.msc) for additional information.
I have a Dell with Windows Vista...also getting the stop error BSOD ending in 7E. HELP. Tried REGZOOKA, had Norton 360 (which probably would help jack with a registry problem). All I know, I need a computer, and I am about to turn this DELL into a frizbee.
To understand the situation, please let me know few details. Is the computer booting to Windows? When exactly are you getting the Blue Screen? If the computer is booting to windows, please try the steps mentioned below. Disconnect all the peripherals from the computer and try to reboot. If the issue persists follow the steps mentioned below.
1. Run the hardware diagnostics. -- Shut down the computer. -- Disconnect all the peripherals from the computer. (If it is a desktop, only the monitor, keyboard, mouse and the power cable should be connected. In case it is a laptop only the ac adaptor). -- Restart the computer and keep tapping F12. -- It takes you to the One Time Boot Menu. -- Select Diagnostics and press Enter. If the test fails capture the error code and get back to us, I would let you know the next course of action. If the test passes continue with the step 2.
2. Do the LKGC. -- Restart the computer. -- Keep taping F8 key. -- Select Last Known Good Configuration from the Advanced Boot Options. -- Press Enter. If that doesn’t work, try booting into safe mode with networking.
3. Booting in Safe Mode with Networking. -- Restart the computer. -- Keep taping F8 key. -- Select Safe Mode with Networking from the Advanced Boot Options.
If the computer Boots into safe mode, update the Bios to the latest version. Click on the link mentioned below to download and install the latest Bios version. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/NeedProductSelection? -- Enter the service tag. -- Select the Operating system. -- Download and Install the latest Bios. -- Restart the computer and check the functionality of the computer.

Jesse,
Thank for the response.
I am getting kind of desperate in finding a way to fix this error problem.
I don’t know what a repair install is. Is this the same as trying to reinstall the
OS.
Need more help.
Thanks,
Rudy

Posting, especially a "suggested answer" post that is garbage to a 3 year old thread is not the way we do things on this forum.
