try in xp cd recovery chkdsk /p

.. sounds like theres a bad driver for sata or scsi or the drive is corrupt and cand load the driver booting.
youl need to make aboot floppy with F6 sata drivers for your pc.
look for 0x7b and recovery console . should find some tricks!
