Sorry about the first post!! ;(
Well after almost 3 days of experimenting and testing i got the SP2 installation to work fine.
I have an Dimension 8300 with ATI 9800XT and SB Audigy2 OEM The installation is from a Windows XP installation CD with SP2 included not from a SP upgrade or patch.
First I upgraded the BIOS to A07 and the i installed the XP on a clean partition after this I had to install the Network drivers and the latest Creative Audigy drivers after this everything else was included in the installation and now the machine is working perfectly...
Some other applications can have problems with SP2 also... like Daemon Tools (the virtual Cd manager) you need to upgrade that too to the latest to avoid that the system hangs on startups...
Well that's it friend hope this helps someone... so you don't need to pull your hair like i did before i got this to work :D
