Switching users

Xp Home machine that has been running for several months..

One user administrator account till yesterday.. Set up 2 new user accounts but the machine refuses to access them.. When I switch users, I get a log-in screen with 3 accounts. If I log onto either of the new accounts, the machine accepts them, them momentarily flashes something that may be the desktop, then returns to the 3 account log-in screen. The original account works correctly, but the new accounts refuse to open.. Password is correct because if I enter it incorrectly' I get the forget message..

Thanks for the thought, but I get no error, just a return to the log-in screen..

Further info.. When I rebooted the machine I can log into any one user account, but only the first I pick.. Attempting to log into any different user account, including administrator, will fail.. Had to reboot to get into my administrator account..

Well the problem is solved..

I did something bad to the REGISTRY... My fault..

Had to reinstall Windows XP... Windows over Windows..

Resource CD... They call it UPGRADE... Installed over existing version... Lost nothing and fixed my REGISTRY problem.. In the process, it fixed my " Switching user problem." I now have access to all users..

We live and learn ! Sometimes !!!
