"SysFader": Anyone Know Anything About ?
Hello:
Have been getting SysFader error msg's when shutting down (using XP on new PC)
Anyone know anything about SysFader ?
Could it possibly be the cause of the problem I have been posting
about recently regarding desktop shortcut icons suddenly not working ?
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks for reply.
I'm pretty new at all of this.
I did a Google on it, and am totally confused by what I read.
Some say it's a virus, other due to a setting in DISPLAY that allows fading.
My impression is that there were really no posts that sounded like they knew (for certain). Also, many that I just didn't understand.
Thought that someone here, might really have a handle on it.
e.g., what it really is, is it dangerous, and how to (hopefully easily) get rid of it.
Also have a brand new error msg. on closing.
Always something new, it sure seems.
It's: DirectDBNotifyWnd
Not too much in Google on this one.
Any ideas ?
Regards,
Bob

The only thing half-definitive leads to this hotfix.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828133&Product=winxp
If it is OE/IE-related perhaps re-installing them may help. If you go ahead with the hotfix set a restore point. (I don't know if these minimal issues make the service packs.)
