System 32 file opens when Windows XP starts.

A system 32 file opens a window everytime I start my 8300 with Windows XP.  There is no error message.  This has been going on for the four weeks I have had the system.  I have spent 9 hours on the phone and 2 hours online trying to get it fixed.  I am now past the return time for the system and must fix it.  The system 32 file states that it contains program files and should not be opened.  How do I make it quit opening with Windows XP?

When you get the message telling you that you are running selective startup, simply check the box to not show the message again.  You will not see the message until you run msconfig again and change something else.  Most of us are always running in selective startup, so it is not a problem.

It fixed the system 32, but how do you get the window stating you've changed the start up registry to not appear.  When I switch back to normal mode-the system 32 file appears.  When unselected, a windows utility windows opens each time.  The website solved the problem with a FRESH PROBLEM.  Thanks for solving the original problem, but can you help eliminate the new problem that solution caused?
