System changes for no reason - software problem?

I posted the following in the "BIOS" forum, but someone suggested it may actually be a piece of software that is causing the problem.

Twice in the last few weeks, the year in my system clock has "reset" itself to 2000. (Once in 2004, once in 2005).

The actual time, date and month remain perfectly OK, so do all other BIOS settings, so I doubt the CMOS battery needs replacing - also my Dell is only 3 months old!

I have installed XP Service Pack 2 and run Norton Systemworks 2004 (including Go Back), which is the only piece of software I can think of that may "interfere" at a low level. Although ironically it's Go Back which has identified the problem - when I shut down it notices that my system clock is set to an earlier time than the Go Back "backup" and posts a warning message.

Have you gone into Bios, set the date, saved changes, then exit? Just a thought.
