The only CDs sent with my computer were Word Perfect and one for the monitor. Can I order one through Dell and do you think this will help? I also believe I have to add more memory because just before all this happened I noticed I went from 512mb to 504mb or RAM.
I am unable to get anything on my computer except for the errors previously stated. They are a constant. Also, just out of curiosity, I tried putting the CD's (Word and the monitor) in the CD drive and the light flashed a few times, but would not run the CD's. Out of frustration and because I can only get to the BSOD, I've unplugged all connections.
My only way to communicate is from my office on a different PC (of course)
well you have a few different ones there, I would like to know which one you are getting now when trying to boot to xp without any cd-s or safemode or anything like that.
having said that you will need your xp cd to fix this I'm pretty sure
Thank you, Otiss. I'll see what I can do to get my hands on an XP cd. Think I might throw in some more RAM too. Will let you know the outcome. Appreciate your expertise and help thus far.
CD ordered for Windows XP via link sent, thanks. I'm assuming I should wait til I can get into Windows before I go to the drivers link? How will I know which drivers to download and will all this work even if I'm getting error messages about "memory write/read failure....decreasing available memory"?
The error messages I'm receiving are in bold font in my original message in the order that they happen.
They are a constant. When I get the option to hit F1 (to continue) or F2 (run setup utility) I hit F1 and get the BSOD. From there I have to shut off my PC and boot up again.
I can't get into windows at all. I'm getting the same messages. (see bold fonts, original message)
I did get the Windows XP CDs I needed from Dell. I first tried to "repair" the OS and was given the message that it couldn't be completed. So, I tried the reinstall option, no luck there either. I get error messages that some components aren't being installed and at one point, I DID get a desktop with NO icons and it's not recognizing my modem connection. So, I restarted the application only to get the original messages (see bold fonts) once again and only able to get to Windows when I used the CD. At this point, Windows is not operational and I can't get to any site for direct assistance.
I have no idea how, but Windows XP finally installed. Along the way, I was getting error messages with options [abort] [retry] [cancel]. Some worked with the retry, others had to be aborted. I knew then it wouldn't be 100%. I have no sound and I can live with that for now but at least I can navigate around the internet. I limit my searchings as I cannot add antivirus or antispyware without the application failing or my computer crashing to blue screen. I looked at the Windows XP reinstall link you sent but my CD-ROM doesn't boot from CD (why, I don't know) and I have no floppy drive for diskettes. I also noticed it suggests more RAM than what I have 512mb. Should I install more RAM before making more attempts to fix my issues?
I finally called in an expert. 3 hrs of her time troubleshooting and process of elimination. Turns out my memory was corrupt. She swapped it out and I've gone from 512 to a Gig. Problems have disappered.
Thank you again for your expertise. I truly appreciate it!:

you can call dell and ask them or look at your system details from your service tag to figure out which drivers.
but right now I'm a bit confused as to what is the error you are getting when trying to boot into windows

after you install xp it won't recognize your modem, video card, sound card and etc till you install the drivers for them.
at this point just reinstall xp

you need to go into your bios and set it to boot from cd.
right now your system is just a matter of time before it locks you out again.
