system32\ntoskrnl.exe corrupted

I get a message after doing a scan from AVG that ntoskrnl.exe is infected. Windows will boot ok. What is the best way to repair this file?

Hold the flag key down and tap R, type in the run box the following    sfc /scannow     and hit OK, space between c   and   /
Your XP cd may be requested, so have it handy, this wiil scan all critical system files and replace any that are corrupted or are not the proper size, it takes a while to run and finishes silently. Rescan using AVG after this is done.
