Tab Key?

Hi,

On my 98 machine the keyboard tab button has started to do different things to what i would like. It used to tab through the buttons as you would expect but now it seems to tab through the windows that are open instead, has anybody got any idea why this might be?

It sounds as if the Alt key is stuck. [i.e. Pressing Tab + Alt produces the change from one window to another.] Try blowing some dry air around the Alt key. Air Blaster is a manufacturer name that comes to mind. I believe that you can obtain dry air canisters like Air Blaster from your local computer equipment store. I am almost certain that Best Buys and Circuit City have similar products. The canisters come equipped with a plastic tub extension. Injecting short blasts of dry air under the Alt key may help to dislodge any foreign particles. Remember, if you use a dry air canister, do not prolong your blasts; the dry air--since it is compressed--wiii dispense moisture if held too long.
