Task Manager problem

For some reason I seem to just have an abbreiviated Task Manager. It just has the Task at the upper left of the window with a listing of what's currently running. I have an option to end the task, but that's it. I can only close the window by hitting the ESC key. I'm not sure when this started, I did have the normal Task Manager window before. I did recently clean out some spyware, including WINTOOLS but am not sure if this is related. Any ideas ?  Thanks in advance.
