Tiny personal firewall

Are you using both the XP firewall and tine personal firewall at the same time?  In theory, having multiple firewalls running at once could cause a problem, although I don't know what would have triggered a change.  Have you tried running with only one or the other to see if they work correctly by themselves?

Less likely is a virus; but that would have been more likely to open the firewall rather than block your connection.  Many virusses can disable anti-virus and firewall software now.  Have you updated and run a recent virus scan?  Have you tried an on-line virus scan of your system from Symantec or something similar, in case your local anti-virus was compromised?

The xp firewall was 'built on' the Tiny Firewall so that's probably why they got along for this long. The xp thingy is really redundant. Try a full scan at dslreports.com with only Tiny running; if you have to, connect to the internet first before you manually load Tiny.
