TinyURL and Outlook Express

Question

I have a Dell 2400 with XP Home SP2 installed.  Outlook Express is my email and newsgroup program.      Just today, I discovered TinyURL and how to use it.  Nice little tool, but I've noticed that when I copy and paste a TinyURL into an email message, it doesn't turn into a hyperlink.  Just text.  I've sent emails to myself with TinyURL's pasted, but they are never hyperlinks.  Yet TinyURL's do appear as hyperlinks when I insert them in newsgroup posts.        Is there a setting with OE I can change so TinyURL's appear as hyperlinks with email messages?

Strangely, now the TinyURL's are appearing as hyperlinks in my email messages. Not sure what's going on. I'd like to test a TinyURL inside this message post. It links to a book at Barnes & Noble.com.
