trying to set up windows 98

Question

I purchased this computer from a business.  The operating system had been wiped.  When I try to put in a floppy to boot to win98se I get the remove media and push any key to continue.  If I leave the disk out I get invalid system disk.  To set up this computer do I have to use a dell setup disk?  The disks I am using have worked fine on my wifes computer.

Try going into your bios and set the floppy as the first boot disk if it is not already. It appears the H/D has not been completly cleaned. If this the case you will need to run fdisk, partion, and reformat the HD.
