Libra, Is TSFWCTRL.EXE spelled correctly. I found this doing a Google search-
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=TFSWCTRL%2EEXE+errors , however the spelling is not the same as you listed.

Hi aps@sun,
Thank you for your reply. I misspelled the error.
I experienced a lot of tfswctrl.exe errors in the past 2 months. Due to other reasons (SP2) I had to do a format and reinstall Windows XP. I installed Record Now and didn't want to install the Sonic DLA but the tech said I should. I had experienced an error again with this tfswctrl.exe when I posted.
I am not familiar with Record Now. I have Direct CD and EZCD Creator on my other computer. For quite a while now I have only used EZCD Creator and can write and read from the disks I create (old version in Windows 98).
What I would like to know is if I use add/remove to remove Sonic DLA (or uncheck "this drive can use DLA") will I still be able to write to disks and read/copy from them when necessary using Record Now. Everything I have read about this tfswctrl says if you stop it (in msconfig) you will be able to write to a disk but won't be able to read from it. Also, you can't use drag and drop. When I used Record Now a box opened and I selected what I wanted to put to disk - I didn't browse using Windows Explorer, so I don't think I used drag and drop.

In Roxio's CD Creator they are separate programs and work independently. I would like to know if the same holds true with Sonic Record Now and Sonic MY DVD and MY DLA.

Thank you.

Sincerely, Libra

Essentially, Drive Letter Access allows the burner to perform as any other drive on your computer, i.e., your floppy drive. You can read more in the Sonic Support Knowledge Base about DLA and it's functions and known conflicts with other software. Should you wish to remove it, it is my understanding that the only functions lost would be those related to "drag & drop" to the drive, etc. All options performed through the RecordNow interface should remain unchanged.

Hi Dan,
Thank you very much. If I continue to see those errors then I will remove the DLA now that I know if won't affect my use of Record Now. I appreciate your help.
Sincerely, Libra
