Two Network Computers Do Not See Each Other
I have an XPS 8900 and an Inspiron 7373 2-1 on the same network. They can longer "see" each other since installing Win10 Update 2004. Each monthly 2004 patch update has not changed this issue.
Both computer's C drives allow full access to Everyone. Both computer's Advanced Access identify the other by name.
The XPS was able to "see" the Inspiron all the time prior to installing 2004. However the Inspiron had to be "tweeked" occasionally before it would "see" the XPS. Unfortunately I couldn't see a pattern to the tweeking, Just got lucky each time.
Has anyone seen this issue? I'm open to anyone's SWAG. Thanks y'all, much appreciated.

Home Group and Peer to Peer removed from windows 10
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/connecting-pcs-and-users-for-sharing/fb92e439-5dbc-4367-9857-1ef360e9ffdf
Microsoft has removed the Homegroup from Windows 10 by default.
It still shows up in file explorer but it now does absolutely nothing.
HomeGroup has been removed from Windows 10 (Version 1803 and newer).
However, even though it has been removed, you can still share printers
and files by using features that are built into Windows 10.
To learn how to share printers in Windows 10, see Share your network printer.

To learn how to share files, see Share files in File Explorer.

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
What’s changed?
After you update your PC to Windows 10 (Version 1803):
HomeGroup won’t appear in File Explorer.
HomeGroup won’t appear in Control Panel, which means that you can’t create, join, or leave a homegroup.
HomeGroup won’t appear on the Troubleshoot screen when you go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot .
You won’t be able to share new files and printers using HomeGroup.
Note: The HomeGroup (view) and HomeGroup (view and edit) options still appear in Windows 10 (Version 1803 or later) when you right-click a folder in File Explorer and then point to Give access to. However, neither option does anything. To share a file or folder, select Specific people from the same shortcut menu instead.
