uEFI not workin

so i have an xps l521x and planing to do a clean windows 8 install

during which i want to shift from bios to uefi

i tried it all, but whenever i click the installation media "a usb drive" it says checking media then checking media [fail]

i have the latest bios a12

i wish for more than a link to dell's support page as an answer, plz HELP!!!!

Hi ali94wadi,

Please follow the steps mentioned below to change from legacy boot to UEFI BIOS.

  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. Immediately at the Dell logo screen, starting tapping the key once a second until the BIOS screen pops up.
  3. Using the arrow keys on the Keyboard navigate to ‘Boot’ tab.
  4. Under the Boot List Option, there are Legacy and UEFI options.
  5. Change it to UEFI and click on enter.
  6. Save and exit from BIOS using the F10 key
  7. Install the Windows 8 operating system.
