You must install the chipset driver ahead of all other device drivers. Some of the device drivers depend on the presence of that driver for proper installation. Dell's preferred installation order is Notebook System Software (found in System Utilities in the drivers list), Chipset Driver, Video Driver, Network Adapter Driver, Sound Adapter Driver, Modem, followed by whatever is left.
