unable to Install .net framework 2.0

Question

I have a Dell

dimension E510 w/XP-MCE, with all updates.

I have dwnld .net framework 2.0 okay but when I try to install it I get the error code "0x80131107".

I need this for other programs I am trying to install. I cannot find this error code on the Microsoft web site.

I hope that someone of you may be able to help with this problem.
