have you ran a spyware program?
have you done a detailed virus scan?
have you tried dell restore? (when your system boots push cntl+f11 i believe it is)
have you emptied your internet files?
the windows system restore is not a good way to go i have had nothing but problems with it!

I tried the ctrl f1 1 approach to no avail.I also tried to uninstall Service pack 2 which locked it up,several times,so I guess only partially uninstalled!!!What a freaking mess, the Windows/Microsoft 'alert'from the error said that the system is not stable and to uninstall Serv Pack 2,well why in the install it in the first place if its gonna 'cause probs???This is where,as an "illiterate" computer user,am confused on what updates to download and those I shouldn't!!!Is anyone else as confused as me????Now I dont know how to repair the mess I've ,and Microsoft, have created.SORRY I had to vent.
