Updating Time Clock stopped working

I can no longer synchronize my computer time with the internet.  The time normally updates on a weekly basis, but since 3/24/07 it no longer works.  When I try to update manually (by clicking on the "update now" button) I get the message "an error occurred while windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com,  The same thing happens when I try to update with time.nist.gov.  I am running NIS with daily updates and have all patches installed for Windows XP SP2.

That's been happening on my computer too; I thought it was just some quirk in the XP:MCE. I'm not sure it's ever worked for me.

It could be the time server you selected Try this one: time-a.nist.gov This link: http://tf.nist.gov/service/time-servers.html has a list of all the current NIST Servers .. pick the one closest to where you live

No, I have been using NIS for a few years and last re-installed it (the 2006 version) in October 2006.

I thought the DST patch was part of the standard Windows XP SP2 updates, if this is correct, then I installed it when it first came out in March.  If not, please let me know where I can find it.

Thanks a lot.  I selected the NY server and immediately was able to update the time.  I'm not sure why the old servers no longer respond, but it's now solved.
